My love for ceramics evolved from an art history course I took on Greek and Roman Pottery as part of
my Bachelor of Arts Degree. When the opportunity came up in 1980 to take ceramics classes at Mohawk
College I jumped at the chance. Since then, wherever we have lived, I have looked for a venue to work
in clay. We moved from Toronto to France and finally settled in Kingston where I joined the
Kingston Potters' Guild. I have been teaching classes at the guild for the past twelve years and
children's classes (Crazy about Clay) for almost as long during the month of July.
I love to make pieces that perform a function as I like the idea that they become part of the lives
of the individuals who purchase them. The colors that I work with range from deep cobalt blues to
rich reds.
I sell my pieces at several sales throughout the year including those at the Kingston Potters' Guild
and the West Side Studio Tour. I also work on commissioned pieces from my home studio.
